Egg sizzled in the pan of the small bar stove tucked in the street corner of his shop, as coffee trickled away under its maker on the side. It was a small time cafe, of homemade grilled toast, salads and sandwiches, though its main specialities were its flower and milk teas and coffees. The streets weren't particularly busy that morning and a dull breeze blew in from the heat, the sun sparkling behind the clouds above.
Seeing how dry it was, Iseul had set up the misting fans to blow inside his shop, to keep his plants and flowers cool. It wouldn't do for a florist to have wilted brownery in his store now, would it? Sliding the egg out of the pan onto a glass plate, he glanced out of the shop to see a familiar sight rolling down the sidewalk. "Mr Dickson! Shall I get your usual or are you busy today?" He said, walking around the counter to closer greet the man with a smile on his face.

Julian was grateful of the days off. Today was one such day. The wind wasn't too strong, and it was just warm enough that he could wear the leather jacket unfastened. The sun was even trying to show from behind the clouds as his hazel eyes scanned the surroundings. He was grateful that the sidewalks at least weren't too narrow, and were people free. He could remember around the last time he was working here, working a case anyway. The shop next door had been broken into. On a whim he'd turned his chair, grateful as ever of the gloves that made it a bit more comfortable to be self propelling himself moving towards the ramp into the cafe-flower shop next door. "I'll have my usual, tea, bacon and egg cob. Not working today," he stated with a slight smile. Maybe not healthy but hey. What was the point of worrying about life and whether eating something would kill you. His life as a crime scene investigator had taught him that... well many things could. Heck he still thanked whoever had been watching over him during that horse riding accident that he'd survived. Okay he'd been left effectively needing a wheelchair or being in agony the rest of his life but still. He'd lived. That was better then being a ... lets not go there. Carefully he moved to check his cellphone just in case a call had come in. Yeh it was his day off but he wasn't blind. He had a paper stashed next to one leg that he was planning on reading. The headlines had given enough away that he was more then aware that there'd been a murder.

Julian Dickson [HASH]manwithaplan [HASH]yellowbunny Returning to the small kitchen, Iseul quickly got to cooking, smoothly frying both egg and bacon and setting the plate with fresh toasted bread. Tea was made right after and he went back to the pan, finishing the dish and bringing it over to the man. "How have you been since the last time we met?" He asked, recalling the last time the officer was around. Not to be happy over misfortune or anything, the shop next door being broken into had brought him a bout of business, which he in turn donated to his poor neighbour and giving out free coffee in the morning and at night when they were still around investigating. "Mind if I join you though?" The florist nodded to his own plate of omelette and fruits which he promptly fetched. There was only so much business in a small flower shop such as his and it was fine for him to take it easy since no one else was around.

He gave a nod of thanks at the tea, reaching to take it with a careful sip after blowing on the hot beverage. "Don't mind at all. To answer your question I've been well. Rare day off today. Always enjoyable," he added on, leaving his phone on the table though - just in case he was called. He was more then happy to start to tuck into the rather unhealthy meal he'd asked for hungrily looking over at. "Heard about that girl killed in her apartment?" he couldn't help asking that. He was amazed that he'd not been called up but then again he hadn't read all the reports. He didn't quite know if the apartment had lifts - or even if it was on the ground floor. A disappreciative twist of his jaw revealed his displeasure at the unwitting reminder he'd given himself of his limitations. Damnit.

Sitting across of Julian, Iseul speared a strawberry with his fork and bit into it, smiling as he chewed. "That's true, you work very hard so an off day every once in a while is good for you." As always and with everyone, he was genuinely glad to hear that the man was well. From what he had seen before, Julian seemed the type to overwork if he got a good lead on something and being as experienced and busy an officer as he was, that ought to happen quite often and would not be healthy at all.
"I did! It's all over the newspaper and online. Poor girl..." The Korean commented with a concerned frown, his gaze shifting onto the street suspicious of the culprit still being free. Glancing back soon told him a different story though, about his customer's frustration. "What made you take this day off though?" A case like this would surely have the man on board, but here he was eating with him, not that he thought anything poorly of it. But he certainly felt it was a source of that frustration and tried to lift the man's mood about his day off. It would not be good to spend it fretting on work.

"Not been called in so I can only assume that its not... particularly accessible," he stated with a sigh. "Still I'm sure the team'll be doing all they can do and that if I could help I'd be called in. Dunno if there's any way to the flat that aren't steps, or even if its upstairs or downstairs. Still at least I guess its good that I get a day off," he just didn't like the idea that that there was someone walking the streets who could do that. "I had a planned day off anyway, but they know I'm always on call," he added on quietly. He just hated that he couldn't do anything. Made him feel powerless.

It did something to a person. Made them more aware of what was happening. Less trusting, at least of people you didn't know. That however he figured was a more depressing discussion and one to be shared with a shrink rather then the person he was with now. "Get many others from the force come in here?" he couldn't help asking that almost curiously. He liked finding out about things.

Certainly Iseul thought highly of the officer before him, handicap overlooked. If the murderer did turn up here, Julian would know what to do, or at least that was what the younger of the two believed.
"They visit from time to time. Mostly for coffee and a quick bite in the morning or late afternoon." He replied. The officers always turn up around their break times rather than lunch since what he provides is not enough to fill active police stomach's.
"I never see you come around with them though?..." Iseul ventured to ask with a raised brow, with a manner that said it was fine not to answer if he did not want to. The young man was just as curious too.

When Julian put it that way, he could understand. Everyone were too conscious of the man's handicap and it only just made him even more conscious of himself.
"Thank you... well if you're going to compare it to that..." The florist laughed, before grinning at. "Then you should come around here more and I can make food that is not blueberries or chewing gum for you." Well at least common breakfast and snack items, that is. Maybe he should invest in a waffle iron. "Mhmm, the new flowers will be shipping in soon. Still got the winter ones left. Hopefully they decorate someone's home before they wilt..." He said quietly, glancing over at his coned racks before shrugging. "And I could always donate them to the local houses before its too late. Do you want some?"

"I close before dinner, around five. You could always knock though, since I live just above." He said, smiling at that offer to buy. It was not like he was going to refuse proper business, considering he did have to make a living, though if there was really no helping it, donating would be better than just throwing his precious flowers away. "Mn, I can see just what kind of bouquet to prepare for you..." He said, a floral arrangement of jasmine, spider mums and eucalyptus forming in his mind as he gazed absent mindedly at the officer.
"Oh?... mn, but I'm not falling asleep." Iseul pretended to chide before grinning and sitting back with his drink. "Really? That's no good... I'd send some over... scents can really help to calm and soothe them, don't you agree?" He mused aloud, already thinking about which of his winter and spring batch would be good.

He was glad that someone had an idea - as he had to admit he'd have none. He liked the aesthetic of them, and how simple bouquets could look, but he wasn't a flower arranger himself. Too much time at crime scenes. "Nothing bad gone on around here recently I take it? Maybe you've managed to make all the bad guys leave this area, at least for now," he couldn't help the smile, the slight grin. He was teasing, in his own way as he settled to just drinking his tea quietly, the cob he'd ordered had been well and truly devoured. It was a nice change of pace to what normally happened. Normally things were hectic, busy, constantly on the go. Days off were... nice. Slowly he allowed his eyes to rove over the people on the streets, secure in the knowledge that while to them he'd likely be another guy in a wheelchair he knew he was armed. It was... comfortable for him to be carrying a firearm, and in his case it was effectively a concealed carry with it holstered on the inside of the wheelchairs left arm against his leg, easy to reach if he needed, yet almost totally invisible.
